Andy Murray sacked as a Football Manager by gloating Borussia Dortmund

Andy Murray, relaxing after helping Great Britain into the Davis Cup semi-finals last weekend with some time on Football Manager, shared news of his latest gaming setback on Twitter and was surprised by the reaction.

The Scot had a bad time in the Bundesliga, tweeting: “Sacked by @borussia_en – great,” only for the Dortmund club’s English account to tweet back: “@AndyMurray89 sorry but the results simply weren’t good enough.”

Murray took the rebuke well: “So the club I get sacked from in the game are mocking me on Twitter, that must be a first!”

Murray is taking time off from playing tennis after reaching the Wimbledon semi-finals, where he lost to Roger Federer, and then leading the victory against France at Queen’s Club.
