Twenty-two months after retirement and sixteen months after giving birth to son Vincent, former doubles No.1 Barbora Strycova is announcing a comeback to professional tennis, which was her plan from the start.
The 2019 Wimbledon doubles champion shared on social media a video collage of her tennis practices and intense gym trainings, with the caption:
See you on courts in summer. Again.
On Twitter, Strycova tagged the WTA in her post, leading us to believe that it’s not a comeback just for an exhibition match. Tiebreak Tennis reveals that Strycova’s goal is to play again in front of fans, as she was forced to retire due to pregnancy during the pandemic and had no opportunity to have a proper farewell.
