2021 WTA Finals to take place in Guadalajara instead of Shenzhen

Because of COVID-19 restrictions, the 2021 WTA Finals will be held in Guadalajara, Mexico instead of Shenzhen, China.

Last year’s WTA Finals were canceled due to the pandemic. Since no tournaments will be played in China for the second year in a row, as the WTA removed the Asian Swing from the 2021 calendar, the prestigious season-ending event has been moved to Guadalajara.

The 2021 WTA Finals will start on November 8 in the second largest Mexican city. Ashleigh Barty won the tournament when it was last staged, in 2019.

Guadalajara is no stranger to women’s tennis.
