The Tennessee Volunteers are one of three programs currently in the mix for five-star Lawrenceville (GA) wide receiver Kyle Davis, joining the Georgia Bulldogs and Auburn Tigers as favorites for his signature.
With Davis' commitment date looming on October 23rd, Davis says he's picked a clear favorite out of that trio. However, he's not divulging that information just yet.
"I cannot say who, but they went up to No. 1," Davis said of one of the trips he took to the three schools. "I got a No. 1. for real."
What is it about this mystery school that has Davis so hyped?
"It was just the connection I have with the coaches," Davis said. "We have a great relationship, and that's important to me."
He also added that a sense of work ethic has informed his thought process in separating Auburn, Georgia, and Tennessee.
"The difference between them, the work ethic at some schools - and the offense as well - one of those schools does not work harder than the other," Davis said. "That is a red flag in some cases."
