The Tennessee Volunteers have been going hard after four-star LB Tyler Taylor (Buford, GA), and their persistence appears to have paid off. He is expected to release a list of his top choices in the next week, and after visiting Knoxville twice in three months, he told 247sports that the Vols will make the cut:
I like Tennessee a lot,” Taylor said. “I think they’ll be a top school. I haven’t really finalized all that yet. I’ll be doing that in a few days, but I think Tennessee will be up there.”
He met with linebackers coach Tyler Thigpen during his trip to Tennessee this weekend, and left very impressed.
“I really like Coach Thig. He’s just a cool person. I mean, he’s in-your-face. I think I like the way he coaches. He’s going to push you to get the best out of you on and off the field.
“He was just showing me how college speed is a lot different. He was basically telling me that I could play as a freshman, but there’s a lot to learn. You’ve got to learn all the calls and all that.
Taylor is ranked as the No. 10 inside linebacker and No. 306 overall prospect in the country.
