Rocky Top may soon have a professional wrestling legend as its next mayor. Glenn Jacobs, better known as “Kane” during his WWE career, has filed paperwork with the Knox County Election Commission appointing a political treasurer, Brian Carl, on March 1 according to WCYB in Knoxville.
Jacobs, who runs Jacobs Insurance Associates in Halls, identifies himself as a Republican but has specified his Libertarian views over the years.
Last year, Jacobs told WBIR in Knoxville that he was seriously considering running for county mayor, but hadn’t confirmed his decision prior to appointing a political treasurer, which he told WCYB was another step toward formally running.
