The Lady Vols will open the first round of the NCAA Tournament this afternoon in Austin, taking on MTSU. The Lady Raiders were awarded a No. 14 seed, while Tennessee earned a No. 3 seed.
This marks the 39th consecutive appearance in the tournament for the Lady Vols. Tennessee is the only team that has made every women’s tournament to date.
Tennessee will meet a familiar face today, matching up against former Lady Vol point guard Anastasia Hayes, who averages north of 26 points per game.
“This game feels like it is a long time coming,” Tennessee head coach Kellie Harper said.
