For the second straight year, the Tennessee Lady Vols enter the Women’s Basketball NCAA Tournament after an underwhelming regular season. This year’s team lost 11 games and had a quick exit from the SEC Tournament.
At 19-11, this was one of the most inconsistent seasons in the history of the school. With the No. 5 strength of schedule this year, Holly Warlick’s team managed to score three wins over Top 5 RPI teams and four wins over Top 10 RPI teams.
However, they also suffered multiple bad losses, including two to an Alabama Crimson Tide team outside of the Top 100, another to the Ole Miss Rebels, also outside of the Top 100, and to the Penn State Nittany Lions and Georgia Bulldogs, both in the 80s of the RPI.
