For the second time in just eight months, Tennessee left-tackle Trey Smith will be sidelined due to the development of blood clots in his lungs. Smith’s first time dealing with this issue was back in February and after a six month treatment of anticoagulants, he was cleared to return in August prior to the start of the season. With this condition forcing the young offensive lineman to once again take a hiatus from football, the Vols don’t have long to come up with a solution at left-tackle.
It will not be easy to replace such a highly respected player as Trey Smith.
