KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara are the two-headed beast Tennessee has at running back.
But they’re not the only Volunteers’ only capable running backs, either.
One name that sometimes slips through the cracks is John Kelly, a sophomore from Detroit who could be running toward an uptick in carries this season.
“JK has had his best camp to date,” Vols coach Butch Jones said. “He’s really grown. You look at the impact he’s made on special teams and now he’s making that same impact offensively as well.”
Kelly has earned a large amount of praise from Jones and the team’s other coaches alike.
