The fans were treated to a bit of a shootout in the first half, and the Vols led 27-14 at halftime after a late interception by Todd Kelly Jr. kept Vandy out of the end zone. But it was all Tennessee in the second half; the Vols outgained the Commodores 202-15 in the third period and eventually built a 53-14 lead before Vandy scored two garbage-time touchdowns.
Tennessee rushed for 331 yards, the eighth time this season the Vols have topped 200 yards on the ground; they did it three times last season. Junior cornerback Cam Sutton scored on a punt return for the second time this season, becoming the first Vol to do that since Terry Fair in 1992.
