KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee safety Todd Kelly Jr. remembers exactly where he was when his young friend was fatally wounded while using his body to shield three young girls from a drive-by shooting in December.
Zaevion Dobson, a Knoxville Fulton football player, was 15 years old when he lost his life in a heroic act. His bravery was acknowledged by President Obama, who said Dobson performed “an act of heroism a lot bigger than anything we should ever expect from a 15-year-old.” Dobson won the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs last month.
