Tennessee coach Butch Jones is known for talk about “champions of life” — but he should be called a “champion of two-point conversion film room studies.”
Jones said Wednesday night on “Vol Calls” that he had reviewed every Georgia Tech two-point conversion attempt during the past 10 years before the Vols and Yellow Jackets faced off last week.
Triple-option guru Paul Johnson took over Georgia Tech in 2008, and the Jackets have played in five overtime games since. Jones’ decision paid off — big time — in the Vols’ 42-41 victory.
In the second overtime, Georgia Tech went for two and the win after scoring a touchdown, with quarterback TaQuon Marshall taking the snap and rolling right toward the end zone.
