The Knoxville News-Sentinel is reporting that Tennessee Volunteers junior wide receiver Von Pearson has been identified as a suspect in an alleged rape that was reported early this morning, per the Knoxville PD.
The incident allegedly took place at a university apartment.
This is the second time in less than a year that the program has been involved in a rape investigation, with former linebacker A.J. Johnson and defensive back Michael Williams having charged with aggravated rape back in November. They both pleaded innocent in March.
A junior college transfer, Pearson reeled in 38 catches for 393 yards and a team best five touchdowns.
