The Tennessee Vols underperformed the average on the SEC Academic Honor Roll lists for the Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions.
And once again, they were below average on another SEC Academic Honor Roll list. This one was the First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll members for the 2016-2017 year as a whole.
There were 54 Tennessee Vols make the list. But out of 902 student athletes on there overall, Tennessee was more than 10 people below the average per school in the SEC.

The Vols ninth in the SEC on this list behind the Alabama Crimson Tide, Arkansas Razorbacks, Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Kentucky Wildcats, South Carolina Gamecocks, and Vanderbilt Commodores.
