In the final series of the regular season, the Tennessee Volunteers were tasked with a trip to South Carolina to face the No. 21 Gamecocks. Tennessee, the nation’s No. 4 team, entered the weekend as the leader in the SEC East by a half game over Vanderbilt.
They needed to take care of business tonight to keep control of that race, and that’s exactly what they were able to do on Thursday night in Columbia.
It took a couple of innings for the scoring to get rolling in this one, but the Tennessee bats came alive in the third and fourth innings.
