Spring practice is over for Tennessee, and the word of note during spring camp for Butch Jones’ Vols was “injury.”
More than 20 Vols missed all or a portion of spring camp for health reasons. But that didn’t stop the able-bodied players from working on their craft and improving.
The main focus offensively was to work on the downfield passing attack. It isn’t fixed but the deeper throws definitely are starting to look better. Defensively, it was just a matter of getting to know new coordinator Bob Shoop’s scheme. The defense won its fair share of practices throughout these past few weeks, and it is on the right track.
