Tennessee is on the move in the polls already following an opening day victory over Chattanooga on Saturday. The Volunteers, led by emerging star quarterback Nico Iamaleava, took care of the Mocs to the tune of 69-3.
More importantly, Tennessee benefitted from a couple of hiccups in front of them. LSU went down to USC on Sunday night, while Clemson got thumped in Atlanta by Georgia. Florida State has already taken two losses and fell completely out of the poll.
The Volunteers moved up to No. 14 in this week’s AP poll after being jumped by both Miami and USC.
