Tennessee wide receiver Vincent Perry has been ruled academically ineligible for the 2016 season.
Tennessee athletic department spokesman Ryan Robinson announced Wednesday that Perry will remain on the Tennessee roster and can still practice with the team this fall, but he won’t be able to play in any games. He also will no longer be on scholarship but will have an opportunity to re-earn it.
Perry, a redshirt freshman, missed the entire 2015 season after tearing his meniscus during fall camp in August. He re-injured the knee during this past spring.
Perry was a three-star prospect coming out of Hillsboro High School in Nashville in 2015.
