One thing Tennessee hasn’t had a problem doing since Jeremy Pruitt arrived is pulling top defensive back talent.
Pruitt and his staff were forced to overhaul the cornerback room upon arrival. They were able to do that in a bit of an unconventional way, converting Alontae Taylor to defense, while adding Bryce Thompson late in the 2018 recruiting process. From there, Tennessee has added Tyus Fields and Warren Burrell, along with Art Green — the No. 1 rated JUCO player in the 2020 class.
On Monday night, they made the top eight for Kendall Dennis, another four-star cornerback prospect.
