After taking their second loss of the season over the weekend, Tennessee remained inside of the top 25 on Monday. The Volunteers were beaten by in-state rival Memphis on Saturday afternoon after shooting 25 percent from the field and 15 percent from three-point range.
It was eerily similar to the loss Tennessee took against Florida State a couple of weeks ago. Somehow, Rick Barnes is going to have to get more consistent scoring out of Lamonte Turner and Jordan Bowden.
The AP voters didn’t punish Tennessee much for the loss. The Volunteers slid from 19th to 21st in this week’s top 25, while Memphis hopped up to No.
