They started 0-2 with home losses to Group of Five schools. Then they fell to 1-4 on the year. But with a dramatic rebound, Tennessee football marches into the final game of the regular season with a 6-5 record and chance to finish with a winning record for the first time since 2016.
The Vols have the chance to match their best SEC record, 5-3, since Phillip Fulmer’s last season in 2008. They only had that record in 2015. In order to do that, they will have to defeat the second worst team in the league, the Vanderbilt Commodores.
