It may be hard to gauge how different units are doing after they play an FCS school, but the story is completely different for Tennessee football. Given all the struggles the Vols have had throughout the year, any win is worth breaking down.
After all, UT did lose to a Sun Belt team in the Georgia State Panthers to open the season that was 2-10 the year before and just suffered a blowout loss to the Western Michigan Broncos. The loss against the BYU Cougars to follow, albeit heartbreaking, was still an improvement.
That Tennessee football’s first win came against the Chattanooga Mocs is irrelevant at this point.
