Admit it. You were ready to give up when Tennessee football allowed a touchdown pass on the first play. That was the peak moment for everybody in Vol Nation to question why they care about this team. After all, they were, 2-5 and did that against a 3-4 team led by a coach they were 0-7 against. Nothing could work in their favor.
It only got worse from there. The Vols were stopped on a 4th and goal from the one-yard line while down 7-3. Then, after taking the lead twice thanks to a punt return touchdown by Marquez Callaway and a touchdown pass from Jarrett Guarantano to Jauan Jennings, they managed to surrender it twice with back to back touchdown drives.
