Tight ends are traditionally not highly touted recruits. However, Jeremy Pruitt has spent a certain amount of time targeting the few highly touted players at the position, including junior college transfer Dominick Wood-Anderson. It’s now boding well for Tennessee football.
The Vols made the cut for a 2020 tight end from Nevada who is a rare talent. Darnell Washington, who hails from Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas, trimmed his list to 12 schools on Monday, and Tennessee football was among them.
Other schools included the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Auburn Tigers, the Clemson Tigers, the Florida State Seminoles, the Florida Gators, the Georgia Bulldogs, the LSU Tigers, the Miami Hurricanes, the Michigan Wolverines, the Oregon Ducks and the Penn State Nittany Lions.
