When he first left for the NFL Draft in 2003, Jason Witten didn’t have high expectations. Only Tennessee football fans knew he’d be something special. However, NFL analysts considered him a lesser Jeremy Shocker.
As a result, Witten fell to the Dallas Cowboys in the third round. Now, 15 years later, we all laugh at the notion of Witten being behind Shockey in anything. A Hall of Fame career with the Cowboys followed that draft for Witten.
It now looks like he’s bringing that professional career to an end. After years of excellence, his numbers and efficiency are unmatched.
