He was a key member of the 1998 Tennessee football national championship team and became a record-setting defensive back in 1999. Former Vol Deon Grant was a star defensive back for three years with Tennessee from 1997 to 1999.
And now, he is getting his due for it.
The free safety will represent Tennessee football as a member of the 2016 SEC Legends class, which was announced on Tuesday on SEC Sports online.
Grant had 14 interceptions for his career in Knoxville, including nine in 1999, which led the NCAA and remains the most for any Vol since 1971.
