One of the surprise moves this offseason for Tennessee football was when Jeremy Pruitt moved Brian Niedermeyer over to inside linebackers coach. An up and coming assistant for the Vols, Niedermeyer is a rising star in the SEC ranks.
The move was to make room for Pruitt’s promotion of Joe Osovet to tight ends coach. Niedermeyer replaces Kevin Sherrer, who served as inside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator this past year before moving on to take a job with the New York Giants.
What impact does this switch have? Well, we honestly don’t know yet.
