Being in week 3 after the end of the season and still having no offensive coordinator to replace Tyson Helton could be a bit of a concern for Tennessee football. After all, it didn’t take them this long to even find a head coach after the end of last season.
However, it’s also worth noting that assistant coach hires are not the same as head coach hires. And in fact, almost all of the Vols coordinator hires in the past came in January or February, so there’s no reason for Rocky Top to panic yet.
Jeremy Pruitt has plenty of time to get the right guy for his system, and there are plenty of other things for him to worry about.
