It was Liam Doyle night for Tennessee at Lindsey Nelson Stadium, and the top-ranked MLB prospect didn’t disappoint to say the least. St. Bonaventure proved to be no match for the lefty, who was making his third start of the year.
Doyle went 5.2 innings and didn’t give up a hit. He walked two batters on the night, throwing 114 pitches. Doyle struck out 13 of 19 batters faced — that’s why he was named the top prospect earlier this week looking ahead to the 2025 MLB Draft.
Cannon Peebles started the scoring for Tennessee, launching a three-run shot to give the Volunteers their first lead of the night.
