Charles Kelly, who just finished his fourth season as Florida State’s defensive coordinator, likely is set to join Jeremy Pruitt’s inaugural staff at the University of Tennessee, per two sources with direct knowledge of the situation.
One source told Gridiron Now late Wednesday night that Kelly, “is choosing between Colorado (State) and Tennessee.”
Multiple on-line reports indicate Kelly has interviewed and is a top candidate for the Rams’ defensive coordinator vacancy.
A second source, with direct ties to UT, told me Wednesday that “Kelly definitely is in” the mix to join the first-year staff of Pruitt, hired earlier this month by Phillip Fulmer to take over the Vols’ program after Butch Jones’ final season spiraled into the record books as the worst in Tennessee history.
