The Tennessee Volunteers have won the SEC East baseball crown for the first time since 1997. They were able to do so with a win over South Carolina, coupled with a loss by Vanderbilt. The Vols held on for a 5-4 win over the Gamecocks, winning another series and capturing the No. 2 seed in this week’s SEC Baseball Tournament.
Tennessee (42-14, 20-10) will now play on Wednesday, set to take on the winner of South Carolina-Alabama. That game is slated to begin in the 2 p.m. ET slot, following game five, which features Mississippi State.
