When you are one of the best programs in the nation, as the Tennessee basketball team was, a lot of athletic directors come calling because things are working. What the Vols have been able to accomplish the past two seasons is remarkable even though they faded when it mattered most.
But, despite the fade, Rick Barnes has an incredible group of assistant coaches that really make things roll. Rob Lanier, Desmond Oliver, and Michael Schwartz might not be names most fans don’t know, but they are an essential piece to the puzzle.
Each coach has been a part of the rebuilding process at Tennessee since 2016.
