Rick Barnes takes his young team to Canada for Tennessee basketball’s first tough matchup of the year Saturday. The Vols will face the No. 20 ranked Washington Huskies in the James Naismith Classic at the Scotiabank Arena in Washington.
This is UT’s first game away from home, as they opened the season with a 78-63 win over the UNC Asheville Bulldogs and then beat the Murray State Racers 82-63 a week later. While Murray State is a quality mid-major opponent, Washington is a significantly tougher test.
With Tennessee basketball being five spots out of the top 25, this is likely a game to determine who will be ranked in the next AP Poll on Monday.
