Late Monday morning, Tennessee sophomore big man, JP Estrella, announced on social media that he will undergo surgery on his left foot and will miss the remainder of the 2024 season.
The issue with his foot has been ongoing, per Estrella, and the decision was surely not an easy one to make.
This is an unfortunate blow for Estrella as well as the Vols’ interior depth. Estrella, who had been averaging 4.7 points per game across 10.3 minutes per game over three games, would likely seek a medical redshirt for the season, and will return for the 2025 season at full strength.
