With two available scholarships, Rick Barnes and the Tennessee basketball program decided to go the grad-transfer route, for the third straight year. The Vols had a lot of success last season when they signed James Daniel III as a grad-transfer.
Before coming to Tennessee, Daniel III played four years at Howard University where he averaged over 30 minutes per game. He also was one of the nation’s top scorers averaging over 15 points a game each season. His junior season was his best where he averaged 27 points per game and shot 84.6 percent from the free throw line.
