KNOXVILLE. Tenn. — As you can imagine, this has been a rough week in Knoxville.
In just one example of how Vols fans are taking the loss to Florida, a local driver has turned their Tennessee car flag upside down in the universal sign for “distress.”
It’s become a recurring theme over the past four-plus years: The Vols play well enough to win a big game, only to have highly questionable coaching decisions prove costly.
Considering that this looks to be one of the least-talented Florida teams in the past 25 years, and that the Gators were without their two best offensive players (wide receiver Antonio Callaway and running back Jordan Scarlett are still serving suspensions), leaving the “W” in Gainesville will haunt Tennessee for quite a while.
