Eighteen SEC student-athletes were selected in the 2016 National Pro Fastpitch Draft, held on April 14 in Nashville.
This was the 13th draft conducted by the NSF, a league that began in 2004. Throughout that time, 283 college players from 78 different colleges and universities have been drafted into the league.
The SEC is the only conference that has had at least one draftee from every participating institution. The SEC also holds the distinction of being home to the NPF's first ever draft selection, which was Mississippi State's Iyhia McMichael in 2004.
The 2016 draft had a total of 40 selections, divided up with Akron Racers, Pennsylvania Rebellion, USSSA Pride and Scrap Yard Dogs each with eight, and Chicago Bandits and Dallas Charge with four each.
