KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee quarterback Joshua Dobbs isn't planning to play baseball for the Volunteers this season after briefly working out with the team during its preseason.
Vols baseball coach Dave Serrano said Wednesday that Dobbs had worked out with his team about four days and had decided to concentrate solely on his football duties as Tennessee's starting quarterback. Serrano said last month that Dobbs participated in the baseball workouts with football coach Butch Jones' permission.
Serrano added that Dobbs is always welcome to come into the dugout during home games and that when his football career ends, "if football isn't his future, he can come back and play baseball.
