KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Rest assured, apathy will never be a part of Butch Jones’ program at Tennessee. Darrell Miller is the most recent example.
Miller, a sophomore cornerback, left Tennessee’s football team just a week into preseason camp. Think about the timing of that: You go through entire offseason preparing for the season, then take off.
That’s not a criticism of Miller; it’s just another example of how Jones is 100 percent determined to upgrade Tennessee’s roster. Miller’s departure came at nearly the same time as Baylen Buchanan lost his black helmet stripe, which means the defensive back no longer is “considered” a freshman even though he is one.
