BRISTOL, Tenn. – Going into spring practice, not all that much was expected of Tennessee sophomore safety Micah Abernathy. He wasn’t a projected starter and kept a low profile for most of camp.
But once fall camp began, Abernathy’s skills became apparent. And he put those skills on full display in front of 156,990 fans during Saturday night’s Battle at Bristol. Abernathy broke the Vols’ single-game record for fumble recoveries with three.
“Micah’s a very good football player,” Jones said. “You know what you’re getting with Micah every single day. He’s really helping us win football games.
