The Tennessee football program has lost another former highly-ranked prospect this offseason — this one is much less of a surprise, however. Malachi Wideman, a former top 100 overall player, is no longer with the Tennessee football program.
Wideman had been rumored to be on the way out, and a Tennessee spokesman confirmed the news today. The 6-4, 200 pound receiver was expected to compete for playing time this fall, but it became evident during spring practice that something was going on. Wideman was reportedly dealing with a hamstring issue, but he wasn’t seen on the sidelines at the Orange and White Game to wrap up the spring.
