No. 8 seed Tennessee will square off with No. 1 seed Mississippi State in the third round of the SEC Women’s Basketball tournament today at noon eastern. The Lady Vols, fresh off a win they had to have over LSU, likely are on the right side of the NCAA Tournament bubble. But it’s way too close for comfort.
Unfortunately for them, the task in front of the Lady Vols today is a big one. Mississippi State (ranked 5th in the polls) finished SEC play with a 15-1 mark this season. They beat Tennessee by nearly 30 points in February.
