There seems to be a decent amount of confidence around the Tennessee Volunteers entering week one. It’s an interesting situation considering the Vols were 4-8 last season, but the talent well in Tennessee isn’t totally dry. With a new staff bringing a new culture and scheme to the table, fans are fairly optimistic about this Saturday’s game against West Virginia.
You can add ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit to that optimistic camp, at least for this week. The former Ohio State quarterback said in a radio interview on Tuesday morning that he wouldn’t be surprised if the Vols gave the Mountaineers “a run for their money” on Saturday.
