JT Shrout decommits from Cal, likely opening the door for Tennessee

Tennessee’s search for a quarterback in the 2018 class has been a rollercoaster ride. Butch Jones and the previous regime had Adrian Martinez and Michael Penix committed this summer, but each have gone their separate ways since Jeremy Pruitt took the job.

With those two out of the equation, Pruitt and company set their sights on JT Shrout. Late on Tuesday night, Shrout announced his decision to decommit from Cal.

After much thought and prayer I have decided to de-commit from from Cal. I would like to thank Coach Wilcox and his staff for giving me this opportunity, but I feel this is the best thing for me to do.
