The Tennessee Volunteers ended the 2014 season on a high note, winning three of the last four regular season games and the 2015 TaxSlayer Bowl over Iowa. They gained a lot of momentum towards the end of the year and — despite finishing 7-6 — a lot of people have been saying that the Volunteers look to be one of the strongest teams in the SEC East this year.
The Volunteers were ranked 25 in the Preseason Coaches Poll and are rumored to be on the AP Preseason Poll that releases Sunday, August 23.
During an appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show, ESPN’s Jesse Palmer said he believes the team will be able to use the momentum from the 2014 season and their strong 2015 recruiting class to win the SEC East and get to the championship game in December.
