JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jaguars defensive tackle Malik Jackson’s Tennessee pride is regularly displayed. He often can be seen in the locker room wearing Volunteers gear.
The 27-year-old Jackson transferred to Tennessee in 2010 to join coach Derek Dooley and defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox after a disappointing two-year stint at USC. Now, he’s one of the highest-paid players in the NFL.
Jackson is entering the second year of his six-year, $85.5 million contract (with $42 million guaranteed) with the Jaguars. He has become one of the NFL’s best interior pass rushers from the three-technique spot.
“Tennessee’s football program means everything to me,” Jackson said.
