ATHENS, Ga. – Tennessee coach Butch Jones said someone put a cross on his foot Saturday before the last snap of the game against Georgia. What happened next was nothing short of divine intervention.
With four seconds left at Georgia’s 43, Vols quarterback Josh Dobbs reared back and heaved a pass toward the end zone at Sanford Stadium.
“That ball took forever to come down,” Jones said.
When it did, it was nestled in the arms of Tennessee receiver Jauan Jennings, who lifted himself high into the air and came down with perhaps the most improbable victory in school history.
