The No. 1 team in the land is back in action tonight in Knoxville, set to take on Western Carolina. Tennessee survived an upset bid against Illinois on Saturday night, thanks to Jordan Gainey’s heroics. Gainey hit the game winning layup as time expired, capping off a fantastic night for him when Tennessee needed him the most.
Tennessee is back in Knoxville now for three straight tune-up games ahead of SEC play. The Volunteers have navigated non-conference play to perfection so far, with Western Carolina, MTSU and Norfolk State remaining.
The Volunteers will open with Arkansas on January 4th to kick off SEC play.
