For just the third time in program history, the Tennessee Volunteers are playing in the Elite Eight. Zakai Zeigler and company dominated Kentucky on Friday night, getting payback when it counted the most for the Wildcats’ regular season sweep of the Vols.
They move on to face the No. 1 seeded Houston Cougars in the Midwest final, with a trip to the Final Four on the line. Should Tennessee win, it would be the first appearance in the Final Four in program history.
It’s a matchup between friends with everything on the line. Rick Barnes and Kelvin Sampson go back a long ways, and they’ll meet this afternoon for the right to face Duke.
